Milan moments

Milan. The fashion capital in many hearts, including mine. Fashion in Milan continues to affirm the city’s status as a global fashion capital, blending tradition with innovation and sustainability. The city’s fashion scene is characterized by a dynamic mix of established luxury brands, and emerging designers.

The street style in Milan is a blend of elegance and edge. Milanese fashionistas are known for their impeccable taste, effortlessly mixing high-end pieces with unique, often locally-made accessories. Tailored suits, statement outerwear, and distinctive footwear are staples in the city’s street-style scene.

Heres a few outfits I wore throughout my trip.

1. The basics

The focal point of the outfit is a sleek, white crop top. This classic piece adds a clean and fresh element to the overall look. The crop top’s fitted design highlights the waist, creating a balanced silhouette when paired with my lilac parachute pants. The simplicity of the top makes it versatile and perfect for a range of casual settings. The soft lilac hue adds a touch of pastel charm to the ensemble. These joggers feature an elasticated waist and cuffs, ensuring a comfortable yet stylish fit. The light colour provides a lovely contrast to the white top, creating a harmonious and visually appealing combination.

Accessories

  • Minimalist Jewelry: The outfit is accessorized with subtle pieces like a delicate bracelet and rings. These accessories add a touch of elegance without overwhelming the look, keeping the focus on the crisp, clean lines of the outfit.
  • Necklace: A simple yet chic necklace adds a touch of sophistication to the outfit, enhancing the neckline of the crop top.

I wore this to the airport to remain comfortable throughout the journey but also casual enough for a da of shopping and exploring after I landed.

2. Casual but cute

Casual but cute. A term you’ve probably heard a lot between friends when trying to decipher to dress code so you can all fit the same vibe, especially on a girl’s trip. But in essence, what does ‘causal but cute’ mean? We all have different tastes and different styles so simple, casual but cute will be different to all of us. Yet, we still use it as a generic guideline to follow without setting some simple rules. This is my interpretation of casual but cute.

The centrepiece of the outfit is a delicate, floral mini dress. This dress features a subtle pattern of tiny flowers, perfectly reflecting the season’s bloom. The light fabric and flowing design make it ideal for warm, sunny days, while the mini length adds a touch of playfulness. I got this from PrettyLittleThing.

Complementing the dress is my absolute favourite and a staple in my wardrobe throughout the spring and summer.; my lilac leather jacket. The lilac matches the flowers on the dress., tying in with the sandwich method. This pastel-coloured piece adds a layer of warmth for those cooler spring breezes and ties in beautifully with the floral theme. The lavender hue harmonizes with the overall light and fresh colour palette, enhancing the springtime vibe.

To me this outfit embodies the idea of ‘casual but cute’ and the spirit of spring with its pastel colours, light fabrics, and floral patterns. The floral mini dress and colourful jacket create a cohesive and charming look, perfect for a day spent enjoying nature or a casual outing. The white sneakers add practicality and comfort, ensuring the outfit is both stylish and functional.

3. Dress it up

If you have a keen eye you would notice this is the same top from my first day outfit. The Ryanair hand luggage limit is not forgiving, so you have to make the best of what you have access to! Dressing up an outfit for an evening activity such as dinner, is actually very easy. The key is having a smart trouser or skirt on hand.

The outfit itself is very simple. A simple pair of trousers and a simple white top. Yet added together with the strip of white waistband creates the imagery of a well-thought-out outfit which isn’t anything eccentric or flashy, which I interpret as a foundation in Milan street fashion. Its also another example fo The Sandwich method which i naturally love for its ease and effectiveness.

4. Spa

We spent our last day, relaxing at the Tiktok famous spa. There’s not much to explain really, I just went with a simple black bikini.
