New year, better outfits

Happy belated New Year! 2024 for me was a year of travelling, tanning and buying too many clothes…. and hopefully 2025 will have much of the same – only with better outfits and a whole year older. That’s right, I’m a January baby and just had my 22nd birthday surrounded by fashion’s worst enemy. Snow. Here’s what I wore, to keep trendy, classy and warm for my birthday activities.

1. Dublin

As my sister’s and I’s birthdays are only 11 days apart, we decided to have a cute little weekend away to start off the year. However, the weather was not cute. To keep warm I opted for my fur coat. This coat has been a lifesaver this cold winter and I have not stopped grabbing it for any occasion. Popping to the shops, going to work or going for dinner and drinks, this coat has been with me for all of it. This exact one is from Aliexpress. The tips of the fur are a light brown which adds that extra dimension to any of your outfits, casual or classy.

Underneath, I have this stunning navy blue turtleneck knit with a red accent. Matching with my COACH navy cap. The jeans I have are from ZARA. They are my most flattering, best-fitting jeans in the perfect light denim colour.

2. Brunch

On my actual birthday, pretty much the whole of my city was snowed in. However, that wasn’t going to stop my family and friends from celebrating with me.

So we went for brunch, and a cute brunch spot needs an even cuter outfit. I paired this stunning navy pinstripe shirt, with some white trousers and a simple brown belt to add extra depth and dimension. An additional tip is to play around with the buttoning on your shirt. It seems silly, but how you button it can change a lot about your look! Have fun with it and do what you think looks best, I left a few unbuttoned in this example. Naturally, due to the snow, I did need a coat. A long cream overcoat was used on this occasion, the one featured in the Toasty and Trendy issue. Click below to read.

3. Dinner and drinks

A birthday wouldn’t be complete without a girly dinner and drinks night. For mine, I decided to wear a stunning House of CB dress in this beautiful lilac shade, naturally since I am a purple girly. It had a corset layered over this silky tulle which I tied into a bow. Paired with my nude pearl Zara kitten heels and cream CC COACH bag. With a dress that has a statement neckline like this, I think it’s important to not over-accessorise. Less can be more.

This was my second round at dinner and drinks. This one was a bit more casual vibe so I just paired the same trousers from earlier with a simple ribbed vest and this beautiful statement blazer. By keeping the base plain the depth comes from the pattern on the blazer. Also paired with my purple coach bag to tie in those colours seen on the pattern of the blazer.

4. Bonus Picture

Bonus! Pebbles and I, actually share the same birthday, so of course we had to match. Happy birthday to Pebbles and me!!! Remember your best accessory, is a puppy that tries to lick all your makeup off 😉
